Spicewood Elementary Chess Tournament

Wednesday March 10^th

Spicewood Chess Club will host a half-day unrated chess tournament in the Spicewood Elementary Library on Wednesday, March 10^th, 12:45-5:00pm. This is an early release day. Pre-registration forms are due on Friday, February 26^th, along with payment of the required $5 registration fee. All Spicewood students who know how to play chess are welcome. Volunteer for Enrichment Day - March 12^th

Are you a fitness fanatic? Wouldn’t you like to see our students become more active? Volunteer for Enrichment Day on Friday, March 12th. The theme this year is Sports & Fitness. We have several companies from the area that are facilitating our sessions. We have tried to incorporate individual & team sports, dance, cup stacking, martial arts, and health into our day. The day will be kicked off at 7:55am with Ally Davidson, winner of American Gladiators. The morning sessions will run from 8:35 – 10:30. The afternoon session will run from 12:35-2:30. Spirit Night at Catfish Parlor

We raised $425 for the school at our Catfish Parlor fundraiser. The funds raised go to support our teachers w/ classes, equipment & school enhancements that benefit our children. Thanks to all who came out for good food and a fun evening. Our next Spirit Night is Double Dave's Friday, March 12^th. It's an easy way to eat, meet neighbors & kids to see friends all while benefiting the school.

Spicewood Wins Again at DI Regionals

Spicewood Elementary had three teams participate at the Capital region Destination Imagination competition held on February 27th, 2010. Two teams participated in the competitive category and one team participated in the Rising stars challenge.

Vote to Approve PTA Bylaws - April 13^th

The Texas Congress of Parents and Teachers ("Texas PTA") recommends that each local Parent and Teachers Association ("PTA") update their PTA bylaws periodically. In 2009 the Texas PTA adopted a new template PTA bylaws for use by the local PTAs.
