Open PTA Positions for Next Year

We have these positions still open for next year:

  • 1st Vice President (president – elect shadowing current president) – This is a one year position followed by one year as President (with an option for two years). There is no direct responsibility the first year other than learning the ropes, shadowing Adrienne Johnson and helping Adrienne if needed.
  • Carnival Co-chair to work with Karrie Brueck (the other co-chair)
  • Environmental Chair (or Co-Chairs) – This job has included recycling and environmental awareness efforts as Spicewood, as well as the annual Earth Day activities. The chair(s) are free to make this position what they want it to be.

If you are interested or just want more information, please send an email to Adreinne Johnson at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Great Fundraising Results

We had great success with our fundraisers this year. The Barnes and Noble fundraiser netted $175 for the Spicewood PTA.

In addition, our DoubleDaves fundraisers generated the most sales ($3461.49) of any organization at that location. This resulted in a $406.16 donation back to the group. That's not bad considering these funds were raised by people having dinner together with their families, and interacting with the families of fellow students. These family nights have helped to bring many of these organizations together on a more personal level as well. We all need to thank Adrienne Johnson who personally led these fundraisers throughout the year. It is a great deal of work to organize and promote these events, and Adrienne did a great job!

Free Round Rock Express Tickets

The Round Rock Express rewards students from surrounding elementary schools who achieve perfect attendance during the final grading period of the school year. The Express recognizes the importance of hard work and dedication in the classroom and believes students deserve to be rewarded and acknowledged for their accomplishments.

The Grand Slam Attendance Program is open to children in kindergarten through 5th grade in the surrounding area. Elementary students are encouraged to mail a copy of their final report card to the Express, and the club will send FOUR complimentary tickets to an Express game. Please make sure to include a return address on your envelope in order for us to mail tickets.

Report card copies can be mailed to the following address:

Thank You Laura Levinson!

The PTA would like to thank our wonderful leader Laura Levinson for giving us two incredible years of dedicated service. She has not only been an incredible leader she has also stepped up and worked in the trenches and done whatever, whenever something or someone needed something done! THANK YOU!

Adopt a Garden

There couldn't be a better way to donate your time than to adopt a garden. Did you know that the beautiful gardens in the front of our school are the work of a single volunteer? All year long she weeds, waters, trims and plants. It's a big job for one person! That is why Spicewood is starting a new program called: ADOPT A GARDEN. It's a great project for a Cub Scout or Girl Scout Troop, Daisies, service hours for middle and high school students, or just good old-fashioned bonding with your family. If you or someone you know is interested in ADOPT A GARDEN please contact Mary Ann Barkerding at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
